Changes afoot

Since my last update we have had some changes to the management team, our current deputy manager, Sheila, is taking retirement at the end of October and we have recruited to her position. Our new deputy Manager is called Julie, she is in post now to ensure she is fully updated and ready to take on the role before Sheila leaves.. She will be missed by all. We are hoping she will be back to deliver training and fill in gaps as and when needed.

We are having a big party on Friday 28th September and going for afternoon tea on the 3rd October to give her the best send off we can.

We have continued to support service users on holidays and still more to go. Recent holidays have included weeks in Wales and Scotland and the next one is a bit further afield to Lanzarote!

Future plans include Turkey and Tinsel and trips to Edinburgh and London.

2 service users have started college courses in the new term- we wish them every success with their chosen course topics.

We have continued to make progress with the introduction of the Life star, this tool is helping us support service users to identify outcomes for themselves in order to become more empowered and independent. It seems to be going well so far.

Nourish E records are now embedded in our service and is working very well. We have been able to tailor it to suit service need and help us produce useful reports and data for reviews and meetings.

We have recently signed up to eLFY training who provide module based e learning topics. Staff appear to like this format and will help us deliver a range of training opportunities to blend with our selected additional face to face topics.

Christmas planning starts early here with lots of things to sort out so this will be on our next list of jobs with parties and presents to sort.
