July 2017

This past couple of months have been all about fundraising and hospital visiting .

During June and July we have held an afternoon tea party which raised over £140 for Marie Curie and raised over £130 for Rethink Mental illness buy hosting a stall at Rishton Festival, selling home made cakes and sweet cones etc.

Service users took an active part in the parade and helped make the banner and shakers that were used. The weather helped make the day a success, but it was that warm that the cakes and chocolate began to melt! 🙂

Unfortunately we have had some service users who have been unwell and required hospital admission, at one point 3 people were in hospital, all in different parts of Lancashire, this was a resourcing challenge to ensure we visited each person on a daily basis and were still able to provide all the support everyone needed back home too.

Our allotment project has begun to bear fruit and we have had a crop of onions and radishes so far.

The whole site project is proving a success and we can buy vegetables and salads from other plots at a greatly reduced rate, which fits well with our environmental policy.

The decorating has begun on the first floor and we are also having a further 2 rooms fully refurbished with the en suite rooms being refitted. We are also having the communal access, service user, toilet completely refurbished.

We have recently supported 2 service users to move to other services and are looking to welcome 2 new service users, who have been assessed and agreed, into the vacant rooms in the near future.
